About This Vehicle
1979 was a crucial year and could have been the year that ended the 911 all together. This was the year that Porsche almost replaced the beloved 911 with their new 928, however 911 sales remained strong so the strategy changed. All in all a total of almost 59,000 SC's were built from 1979 through 1983.
The SC featured a 3.0 Liter engine with K-jetronic fuel injection and a 5-speed manual transmission with power ranging from 180HP through 204 HP. Overall the body remained the same as the design of the 911 has been almost a one-design with enhancements to interiors, power plants and trim offering a few body styles of coupe, targas and convertibles.
This first year SC has been in the same ownership for almost 35 years with service history dating back to that time. Mechanically this car is flawless operating very smoothly with easy start up. This car does not leak or smoke and is offered in a very attractive color combination. The Targa top has been re-done recently, the tires are in great shape, full tool roll with original jack, spare, owners manual and spare keys are also present. The paint is starting to show signs of wear but the interior is in great condition. This is a great driver quality Porsche with great history. These cars are continuing to increase in value and this one priced accordingly.
